The Rydian Empire has slowly been expanding its rule to bring all nations of the Western Continent under its flag. Few countries remain independent, and one of these is the small country of Calibria. Determined to stay independent of the Empire, a resistance forms. Funded by a number of upper class members of Calibrian society, it is not the rag-tag group often depicted in stories. From within the ranks a small, elite group is brought together, known collectively as the Kestrels. Their mission is to harry, raid, and generally slow the advancement of the Empire’s army by any means necessary, giving their government the time it needs to negotiate for its independence. Officially, they never existed, and there is scant mention of them in history. But every story has a time to be told.
